Our chapter is brimming with talent. Yes, that's right, you. We can learn a lot from each other. The mentorship program helps put some structure around this.

The Mentorship Program runs over 12 months. Mentors and Mentees are pre-paired before the training where they are provided with all the knowledge, tools, and resources for their monthly one-hour catch-ups as well as ongoing support from the Mentorship Chair.

We're reaching out for mentors and mentees to apply for the upcoming EO Melbourne Chapter Mentorship Program. One has to be an EO Melbourne Member to be a Mentee of this program. Whilst we are opening the application for Mentors to EO members, we are also seeking non-EOers to apply to be a Mentor, including EO Alumni, YPOers, Strategic Alliance Partners, and any other entrepreneurs willing to coach their peers.

In particular, I'd like you to think about what is unique about YOU. We're all different and have so much we can share. In business, are you strong in team building, crisis management, strategy, turnarounds, start-ups, capital raising, joint ventures, deals, or investments? In your personal life, do people envy the balance you have, your time, personal IPOs or trade sales, acquiring a business, time management, stepping back from a business, handing it onto the next generation? How about bootstrapping? Are you good at working through a business model? Are you able to juggle multiple businesses and multiple fitness?

What happens if I am paired with a Mentor without the requested skills or experience?

We will endeavour to pair you up with a mentor who possesses your desired skills or experience, however, we cannot guarantee this. If you are paired with a Mentor that is not what you are looking for, we ask that you trust the process and attend the training with them anyway. Mentor success does not rely on specific skill set or experience. Mentors will be provided the knowledge, tools and resources to help Mentees achieve their goals.

What happens if you can't match me with a Mentor or Mentee?

There may be some instances that we cannot find a mentor. However, we would like to encourage as many as possible to attend the training and will continue to find an appropriate Mentor or Mentee.

Why should I attend the training?

Finally, if any member in EO are thinking about the program for the future or would like to enhance their leadership/coaching skills then the training is only run once a year so it would be worth attending.

Do I need have the specific skill set or experience for my selected Mentee?

No. We will endeavour to partner you up based on requested criteria, but the Mentorship training will provide Mentors with the required knowledge, tools and resources to help Mentees achieve their goals.

The big thing that become clearer to me is that to be a Mentor, you don’t need be an expert in all of these things. You are there as a bit of a sounding board and to be a guide more than anything else.
